Place every fixed reservation on a map: airport arrival, palace day, concert, clinic, business meeting, or early train. If three of four full days sit around the historic center, staying far south for a fashionable hotel can create the same cross-city journey every morning and evening. If the trip is built around Gangnam and Jamsil, the reverse is true.

The tradeoff is atmosphere. Main shopping streets can be busy, and a room facing a late commercial lane can feel different from one a few blocks away. Check recent reviews for street noise and elevators, and confirm whether the nearest station exit has the access you need for luggage.

Hongdae also stays active at night, with food, cafés, music, and youth culture. That combination works well for travelers who want an easy airport-rail arrival and an energetic neighborhood after sightseeing.

Seoul Station is the more transport-focused choice. The Airport Railroad express and all-stop trains connect Incheon Airport with Seoul Station, and the station also supports onward rail journeys. The station complex is large, however, so a hotel described as nearby may still involve a tiring final walk with luggage. Hongdae's liveliness can also become noise on the wrong block; that caution is an editorial inference, so verify it against recent property-specific reviews.

Then compare the full booking terms. Prices and room inventory are too volatile for a fixed neighborhood price table. Look at the final total, taxes, cancellation deadline, bed configuration, breakfast value, laundry access, and recent comments about construction or sound. A slightly higher nightly rate can be rational when it removes repeated transfers or an airport taxi.
